It just got a bit easier to park downtown.
The 321-space Market Square Parking Garage opened to the public yesterday at 260 Forbes Avenue, next to Cherries Diner.
Billed as “the best place to park in Market Square,” the garage is located within Millcraft Investments’ new mixed-use facility, Tower Two-Sixty.
The garage is managed by Alco Parking. Rates are $7 for 0-1 hour, $10 for 1-2 hours, $15 for 2-3 hours and $20 for 3-24. Nights (after 4 p.m.) and Saturday or Sunday rates cost $5. Monthly leases are available for $305 per month, or $275 before April 30.
The first day was not without a few hiccups, as the electronic pay system was not yet functioning and guests were required to pay with cash. An individual who answered the phone at the garage said it may take until early next week for the system to be up and running.
In related news, NEXTpittsburgh has learned that the 198-room Hilton Garden Inn at Tower Two-Sixty is scheduled to open by the end of this month. Additionally, fine dining restaurant Revel + Roost is expected to open its doors for a soft opening on March 1.
Located at 250 Forbes Ave., Revel + Roost is a “Refined Rustic American” restaurant concept.
