Head Brewer at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in Homestead, Meg Evans has worked in the beer industry for more than seven years. A native of Jamestown NY, Meg has done everything from gluing boxes and labeling bottles to designing beer recipes and brewing beer. For Meg, a passion for beer runs deep — and in the family. She’s married to brewer James Evans and together, the pair founded the annual Pittsburgh Brewtal Beer Fest in 2016 as a way to merge their love for beer and heavy metal music. Meg and James are very excited about their upcoming move to Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.

My favorite part of my job is the ability to be creative. Whether I’m experimenting with a new recipe, technique, or simply trying to figure out the best way to attack a problem, I’m challenged in a new way that makes work interesting.

You’ll find me relaxing with my husband and our dogs, Bruce Wayne (Boston Terrier) and Sierra (Golden Retriever mix), or out on a walk.
What upcoming events are you excited attend?
On December 23, Brewtal Beer Fest is teaming up with our friends at Dancing Gnome Brewery and Mr. Smalls Presents to host the event, “A Very Intimate Evening With Punchline” at Black Forge Coffee House in Allentown.
At the end of December, I will travel to New York City for the second-to-last Dillinger Escape Plan show at Terminal 5. Pretty psyched not only to see a couple of bands that I love, but also to explore NYC a bit.
