Wigle Whiskey has released St. Nick Whiskey, a collaboration with its neighbor Penn Brewery.
Where else in the country can you buy your Christmas tree at a whiskey barrelhouse while sipping on a Christmas Whiskey made in collaboration between a beloved brewery and distillery?
Each year the inventive crew at Wigle Whiskey converts their Whiskey Garden at their Northside Barrelhouse into a magical Christmas Tree lot for the first two weekends in December. Each guest receives a complimentary hot cocoa cocktail, mixed with St. Nick Whiskey, in addition to a sample of this seasonal spirit. Profits from the tree sale are donated to a non-profit organization–this year the proceeds go to Family House, which provides a “home away from home” for patients receiving medical treatment and their families.

The first day of the Christmas Tree Spectacular, Saturday, Dec 7, marks the release day of St. Nick Whiskey, a neighborly tradition that began four years ago when Wigle Whiskey first distilled Penn Brewery’s malty Saint Nikolaus Bock Beer and created a caramel-hued whiskey full of sweet cherry, warm vanilla, and toffee notes.
Aged for nearly two years in oak at the Barrelhouse, and labeled with artwork created by Pittsburgh artist Abbie Adams, depicting Northside architecture, this is the most perfect Pittsburgh gift for the whiskey and beer lover on your list.

Guests to the Wigle Spectacular Tree Sale will also receive a $2 off coupon for pizza at Wigle’s sister company, Threadbare Cider and Mead just a few blocks down the street from the Wigle Barrelhouse. There you can sip on delicious house-made, wine-style ciders, and nosh on the sourdough crust pizzas that the Cider House is also known for.
The Wigle Spectacular Tree Sale and St. Nick Whiskey Release kicks off on Saturday, December 7 from 10 AM to 6 PM. The Tree sale continues Sunday, Dec 8 from 10 AM to 4 PM and Saturday, Dec 14 from 10 AM to 6 PM. You can sign up here for the tree sale to ensure your complimentary cocktail and St. Nick Whiskey sample.
If you are not able to make it to the St. Nick release you can pre-order bottles here for pick up at Wigle Whiskey’s Distillery in the Strip District.
Extra Bonus! For those attending the Christmas Tree spectacular on December 14, Threadbare is hosting their annual Winter Market, featuring more than a dozen local artisans and their own new Sweet Cherry Cider for sampling.
