Rick Easton, owner of Bread and Salt, is one of Pittsburgh’s finest bakers. He makes some of Pittsburgh’s best bread and his pizza is the stuff of legend. While he works on building out the Bloomfield storefront which will accommodate his bakery’s new kitchen and retail space, Easton is operating a monthly bread CSA, which you can learn more about through e-mailing him. We caught up with him to ask about the best meal he had last week…or, in this case, in the last week.
Does it have to be from last week, or can it be in the last week? Tamil from Kohinoor [Indo-Pak Cuisine] did No Menu Monday at Bar Marco the other night. He brought his tandoor down and made naan, it was excellent. I had the chana masala and the goat curry, which was deeply savory, well-spiced and made with quality goat. His food is awesome. Everything with this guy is perfectly spiced and very well put together. It doesn’t taste like stuff you’ve had in a lot of other Indian restaurants.
