If you’re like us, you have countless blogs that you check in with almost daily. They fill our social media and RSS feeds, engage, and often outrage, readers and writers alike and cover all manner of topics—from politics and pop culture, to cooking and home improvement. For some, blogging is a craft to be honed, to others it’s an extension of journalism or a ritualistic labor of love.

What do the voices of local bloggers have to say?

Find out Friday night at an awards ceremony honoring the region’s top bloggers producing online content today. A festive celebration of the creative minds behind a variety of leading local blogs, The Best of the Burghosphere will include a Top 10 awards ceremony, libations from Rock Bottom Brewery, fresh fare from Sweet Peaches, live music, activities and celebrity judges.

Held in conjunction with National Blogging Month, the first-of-its-kind Pittsburgh event invited participating bloggers to create unique award categories that capture the focus and spirit of other blogs.

The resulting roster of awards categories includes everything from “blogger most likely to enjoy being called a jagoff at the end of the interview,” “best guilty pleasure blog” and “most novel blog,” to “blogger most drawn to Pittsburgh history,” “blog most likely to make me want to move out of the ‘burbs and to downtown” and even the “blogger most likely to successfully restore civilization after the zombie apocalypse.”

While at MWFA, attendees can also view the new exhibition, The Art of Blogging, on view through November. Featuring 13 local bloggers, the group exhibit explores the art form and includes a live blogging component.

Teaming up to host the event are Most Wanted Fine Art and Pittsburgh Bloggers, and proceeds from the $5 suggested admission price will benefit MWFA’s Resident Artists program.

Friday’s event is open to ages 21 and up. A family-friendly celebration open to all ages will be hosted at Most Wanted Fine Art on Sunday, November 22rd at 1 p.m.
