Forget breakfast in bed, it’s time for breakfast in a museum.

Ring in Valentine’s Day with a creative twist on the age-old concept, when the Mattress Factory museum of contemporary art teams up with local food and drink vendors and opens up its doors on a Sunday morning to host a special 21 and up affair.

Strong Bloody Marys and mimosas? Check. Cat-themed crafts? Check. Eye-popping art? Check. For its inaugural edition, “Breakfast In Bed: Valentine’s Day @ the MF” will feature brunch-worthy libations from Wigle Whiskey and Salúd Juicery paired with a scrumptious waffle bar curated by Waffallonia Liège.

Brunch-goers can get creative by designing cat-themed Valentine’s Day cards and collages and exploring the museum’s world-renowned art installations—which are typically closed on Sunday mornings.

This festive brunch also comes with a cause because attendees can also stop by the event’s adoption station to meet adoptable pets from the local nonprofit, Animal Friends.

General admission donation tickets for the event are $30 ($20 for members) and include one drink, a meal from the waffle bar and admission to the museum. Additional drink tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

All proceeds will support the Mattress Factory’s artist residency program, exhibitions and educational events. Parking is located at 505 Jacksonia Street.
