July 23
2 p.m.

Acclaimed rock star chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain was just in town filming an episode of CNN’s Parts Unknown, four Pittsburgh chefs were named 2017 James Beard Award semifinalist and the city’s food scene has been championed by everyone from Saveur to Zagat.

This Sunday, Table Magazine and the Ace Hotel will present a culinary smackdown featuring 30 top chefs from Pittsburgh along with guests representing award-winning eateries in neighboring states. Find out why Western PA is renowned for producing some of the world’s best lamb—and is home to prominent lamb farmers and chefs.

Locavores will watch 10 teams battle it out during an all-star cook-off as chefs prepare collaborative plates showcasing locally sourced Jamison Farm lamb and vie for the People’s Choice Award.

The roster of participating chefs reads like a who’s who of the Pittsburgh foodie scene, and features everyone from Brandon Blumenfeld (Scratch) and Kate Romane (Black Radish Kitchen), to Justin Severino (Cure, Morcilla) and Roger Li (Umami, Ki Ramen).

The festival will also feature DJs, vegetarian options from Paragon Foods and summer cocktails. The official butcher partner is Block 292. Proceeds will benefit Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation.
