Citiparks

Eight city parks
Through August 31
Movies start at dusk

If you’re sad to see the demise of drive-in theaters, then Citiparks‘ Dollar Bank Cinema In The Park series is for you. Put down that remote, grab a blanket or lawn chair and head to an outdoor movie theater near you.

Running through August 31, the free series features films under the stars at dusk in Arsenal Park (Lawrenceville), Memorial Park (Brookline), Schenley Park and Schenley Plaza (Oakland), Grandview Park (Mt. Washington), Highland Park (East End), Riverview Park (Observatory Hill) and Overlook Park (West End).

New this year is a Sunday night movie series at Schenley Plaza. Also a highlight is the Wednesday night concert series featuring live music right before the films at Flagstaff Hill.

What’s coming up? Fans of Disney favorite, The Jungle Book, can catch the captivating story of orphan Mowgli at Memorial Park on June 29 or at Arsenal Park on June 30.

Schenley Park has the 2016 superhero film, Captain America: Civil War, along with live music by Seventh Nova, on July 5. Head to Schenley Plaza on July 2 to see Pete’s Dragon, and pop into Grandview Park for Alice Through the Looking Glass on July 15.
