Get ready to RAWK around and the clock with the holiday edition of a locally produced arts and culture pop-up series.

RAW artist Natalie Bolea Photography.

Taking up residence at Xtaza, Holiday Rawk will transform the Strip District-based nightclub into an eclectic showcase of contemporary visual art, music, fashion, film, photography, performing arts, and hair and makeup design.

Packed with new work by more than 40 Pittsburgh-based artists and producers, the multi-media event will feature a pop-up gallery with a diverse array of visual art and photography, vendors and artisans, performances, and fashion shows.

Hosted by Portia Foxx, Thursday’s event will also feature live music by The Jacob Klein Band, The Mad Muse and DJ Motor Mane.

RAW artist Suzanne Watters.

This is the perfect chance to give the gift of handmade art this holiday season, because most of the event’s artists and vendors will have work available for sale on site, with prices as low as $20.

Equal parts art exhibition, vendor marketplace and nightlife happening, Holiday RAWk will feature work and products by Caitlin Hanno, Hannah Powell, Zenspire Designs, Pittsburgh Shirt Company, Jonathan Biddle, Christine Ugbomah, Black Hearts Clothing, and many others.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2011 by budding fashion designer Heidi Luerra, RAW:natural born artists has evolved into an organization that provides independent artists in the first 10 years of their creative career with tools, resources and exposure.

Further connecting featured artists with worldwide networks and audiences, RAW made its international debut in Australia in 2012. In February 2013, Pittsburgh joined the growing list that now includes 70-plus international cities producing local artist showcases as part of the independent arts organization.
