Forget paper plate hats, dirty diaper games, and guess the baby’s name contests—there’s a new breed of baby shower in town.

Imbibe, eat and play games—all while raising supplies, funds and awareness for a very important global cause.

Setting up shop at the Millville live music mecca, Global Links is hosting its third annual “Beers for Babes: Not Your Typical Baby Shower” event. Based in Pittsburgh, the medical relief and development nonprofit works tirelessly to redirect vital health care materials away from U.S. landfills and into under-served communities throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Enjoy refreshing brews and tasty burgers, and participate in interactive games and simulation activities highlighting the challenges families face when trying to access health care in rural Latin America.

Create homemade “welcome baby” cards and pack a bag of much-needed items for soon-to-be moms. Help Global Links reach its goal of assembling 750 “welcome baby” kits that will be distributed to maternal care homes in Nicaragua.

Bring new baby items such as diapers, onesies and travel size toothpaste and diaper cream which will be donated to the Pittsburgh-based crisis nursery Jeremiah’s Place.

Buy tickets.
