Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse & Garden
December 10 & 11
Various times

If you’re craving an old-fashioned Italian Christmas the way your nonna use to do it, then head to Wigle Whiskey’s Barrelhouse and Garden on the Nothside this weekend for two days packed with holiday fare and merriment—all celebrating a traditional Natale italiano theme.

Wigle Whiskey

Pittsburgh’s award-winning craft distillery knows well that the holidays aren’t complete without tall trees, handmade cookies and piping hot toddies, and this event has you covered on all fronts.

Visitors can cross items off their holiday shopping lists at the Christmas Tree Spectacular, which also serves as the official release of Wigle’s annual grappa. Dubbed Fatto A Mano (“made by hand”), the  new release is distilled from 6 Mile Cellars Niagara grape pomace.

Helping to create the event’s cozy Italian Christmas vibe will be talented bartenders from Lawrenceville-based Grapperia, who will be on hand to whip up a bountiful porchetta roast, conjure soothing grappa cocktails, and present a tasty cookie table.

In addition to selecting that perfect tree and sampling grappa, attendees can peruse Wigle’s full line of nine handmade spirits released in time for the gift-giving season, including its Rare Peach Brandy, Deep Cut Rye Whiskey, Foraged Pommeau, Malty Baere, and more.

Attendees will even get a free hot cocktail with each tree purchase, while all kiddos will receive free hot cider.

Proceeds from this weekend’s tree sale will support the local nonprofit 412 Food Rescue.
