Pittsburgh’s feline fixation is showing no signs of slowing down. The area’s first cat cafe is drawing cat lovers to the Strip, Nielsen rated Pittsburgh the U.S. city with the third highest number of cat ladies and Lawrenceville boasts an annual cat crawl.
This “CATurday,” one of the region’s top cultural destinations is hosting an entire day of feline-themed family fun for all ages.
Celebrate the launch of CMOA’s Art Cat’s Sketchbook—a new activity guide packed with creative ideas for looking at and making art—explore the museum during “Animal Kingdom Gallery Tours” and enjoy performances by the Center for Young Musicians.
Participate in hands-on drawing activities led by Art Cat’s designer, Mt. Lebanon-based illustrator Dave Klug, get inked with a “cattoo” and design your own cat ears.
Pose for a selfie with the real Art Cat mascot, visit with adoptable kitties from Humane Animal Rescue and rock out during a Kid City dance party led by DJ Kelly Mom.
The event is free with admission. Bring a photo or drawing of your favorite cat for $2 off admission and contribute to the community cat gallery!
