Hosted by New Voices Pittsburgh, the event is part of the organizationâs 11th annual Women of Color HERStory Month celebration.
Be the first in Pittsburgh to see âA Wrinkle in Time,â which is set for release via Disney March 9. Centered around a girl of color whoâs on a mission to save the universe, the groundbreaking sci-fi adventure is directed by Ava DuVernay (âSelmaâ) and features a screenplay by Jennifer Lee (âFrozenâ). Itâs the first film directed by a Black woman to have a $100 million budget.
Based on the iconic 1962 novel by Madeleine LâEngle, the film stars Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Follow Alex and her fellow astral travelers as they set off on an epic quest to find her astrophysicist father who is a prisoner on a distant planet.
