Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh—Main
June 11
Noon—5 p.m.

With school winding down, it’s the perfect time to breathe new life into your summer reading list.

For its 17th annual edition, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s biggest event of the year invites bookworms of all ages to enjoy a free festival packed with imaginative crafts, games, storytelling programs, music, food trucks, and more.

Help Carnegie Library reach its ambitious new “180,000 book Summer Reading Challenge” at this outdoor celebration.

Head to the EQT Performance Tent—emceed by SLB Radio host Larry Berger—to enjoy live productions by Pittsburgh Puppet Works, Timbeleza, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, 1Hood Media, WQED, and more.

Learn to fold paper, make art using circuits and check out the library’s new musical instrument collection. Decorate your own Eat’n Park Smiley Cookie, play games in the CLP Arcade and pop into the Family PlayShop and Kidsburgh tents for hands-on activities.

The Quiet Reading Room will rock with live music by Miranda Brandon, Sophia Blake, Hunter Greenberg and Julia Renee.

The event will also feature an international tent, science lab and a library for blind and physically handicapped visitors.

While there, be sure to sign-up for CLP’s summer reading programs.
