Mattress Factory
June 18
1—5 p.m.

The Mattress Factory’s eclectic Urban Garden Party is one of Pittsburgh’s most anticipated annual events and has solidified its rightful place in the canon of “best Pittsburgh parties ever.”

But the fun does not stop when Friday night ends.

Since 1999, the contemporary art hub has been swinging its doors open to families, neighbors and visitors of all ages for its free Community Garden Party, which takes place on the Sunday following the big benefit bash.

Help the Northside-based museum celebrate 40 fantastic years with a day of making, experiencing and enjoying all kinds of artwork.

Get artsy during hands-on activities hosted by leading local arts and cultural organizations. Projects will be led by educators from Artists Image Resource, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Science Center and Workshop PGH DIY School.

Watch engaging live performances by Jumping Jack Theater, dance the day away with DJ Dave Zak and grab dinner from local food trucks. Get your face painted by Rikki, and experience multi-sensory, room-sized installations art in the museum’s galleries.
