Winter may be gearing up for its last gasp—uh, make that last blizzard—but the welcome signs of a new season are already upon us. Birds have begun to chirp, the first crocuses are pushing up through the frost and buds are even forming on magnolia trees.

Now that we’ve changed our clocks, the best place to spring forward together as a family is at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

Put a spring in your step and hop on down the bunny trail with your newest furry, four-legged and feathered friends at this Saturday’s “ZooHop to Spring” event for kids.

Get a bright and cheery new look as you have your face painted by an artist, hear engaging, spring-themed Zoo Stories told by Matthew Dodd, and snap a keepsake selfie with the friendly Easter Bunny.

Receive a free Bird ID coloring book and make a bird feeder out of pipe cleaners, cereal and berries to take home and hang in your own backyard.

Head into the PPG Aquarium and Water’s Edge exhibit to learn all about springtime birds that are found throughout Pennsylvania, meet the “Big Ocean Keeper” and participate in fun polar bear enrichment activities.

All ZooHop to Spring events are included with general admission.
