It’s home to new craft breweries, a legendary record store, a thriving community library and live music club, historic murals, a scenic riverfront park, phenomenal French bakery, and old-school diners. It’s been hosting the WGN America television series Outsiders, it will soon welcome a new coffeehouse, food incubator and pottery studios, and it’s all just a breezy bike ride away from bustling Lawrenceville.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, you can find out about this cozy borough along the Allegheny at the 2016 Millvale Days Festival.

Spanning three days in mid-September, the family-friendly event will showcase Millvale via local music, cuisine, culture, businesses and more.

Kicking of the festivities on Thursday, September 15—with live music on three Grant Ave. stages—will be The Park Plan, Jimbo and the Soupbones, DJ Bruce Liptak, and The Dovewires.

Friday’s lineup includes performances by The Grant Street Grifters, We Were Telepathic, Told Ya So, and a local supergroup dubbed The Big Smalls Band.

Bringing local music to Millvale on Saturday will be a varied lineup featuring Natalie Rogers, Bryan McQuaid, Jim Donovan and The Sun King Warriors, The Commonheart, Working Breed, Tobacco Road, and many others.

During Millvale Days, local shopkeepers and volunteers will distribute maps displaying icons to be found within 12 participating businesses. Players will compete by locating and photographing the neighborhood icons and then posting them to their social media accounts. Shopkeepers will validate the completed maps, and players can submit them for a chance to win gift baskets.

Produced by the Borough of Millvale and The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls, the 3-day festival will also feature food, drinks, and specials offers from local businesses, a parade, car cruise, games, and rides.
