Ace Hotel Pittsburgh
January 12
7 — 10 p.m.
Experience the wonderland magic of a winter carnival — without having to step outdoors.
The latest charity event to hit the local scene, Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation’s Winter Carnivale is designing its first-annual benefit bash. Step into The Gym at Ace Hotel to stroll alongside The Amazing Giants as they walk on stilts and perform contortionist acts and watch renowned magician and Pittsburgh native Lee Terbosic share his mind-boggling skills.
Play fun carnival games and try to win a secret grand prize, and hit the dance floor when the eight-piece pop powerhouse No Bad Juju takes the stage. Get decked out in body paint with artist Dana Bush, and gain self-knowledge during a Tarot card reading.
Spike Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream and hot chocolate with giant marshmallows and warming spirits, and savor The Whitfield’s creative carnival fare like mini funnel cakes, corn dogs and donut holes.
Leave that LBD at home and dress for a chic winter lodge. Anything goes — from fuzzy sweaters and boots to “cocktail attire paired with your best ski goggles.”
Proceeds will benefit the Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation’s medical research and support for EMTs, paramedics and educators.
