This fall, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts is honoring its 2018 Artist of the Year Atticus Adams and its 2018 Emerging Artist of the Year Njaimeh Njie with prizes and recognition, professional support and the opportunity to present new work in its Shadyside galleries.

A West Virginia native, Adams has created the sculptural exhibition, There’s a Pink Poodle in My Arcadia. Hailing from a family of self-taught artists, Adams creates work that is deeply connected to folk art traditions.

In her new multimedia installation, On the Daily, Njie ues audio, text and video to explore the lives of black Pittsburgh residents.
