Pittsburgh Glass Center

Pittsburgh Glass Center
February 1
6—8 p.m.

Looking for a fantastic way to connect with other Pittsburgh makers and heat up a chilly February night with some 2,200-degree fun?

The Pittsburgh Glass Center (PGC) is calling artists, designers and craftspeople of all ilks to enjoy a night of “creative conversation and consumption” at their HQ along the Penn Avenue arts district. And no, you do not have to be a glass artist to join the fun.

Add some spark, quite literally, to your Wednesday night at the Garfield-based center’s “Artists Only Maker Mixer.” A meet-up for makers working in all mediums, the free event will feature hands-on glass blowing demonstrations led by local artists, beer and refreshments, and plenty of time for inspired happy hour-style mingling.

Makers will also learn about PGC’s free, monthly Idea Furnace residency. The innovative program invites local artists into the center’s studios to learn about the glass making process and see their original designs and concepts realized in glass.

Mark your maker calendar now for PGC’s next “Artists Only” happening on March 8th, which will be co-presented by Bridgeway Capital’s Craft Business Accelerator.

Registration is suggested.
