Get to know the Pittsburgh hamlet nestled south of the Ohio River one mile from Downtown.

With its new Rockin’ West End series, Pittsburgh Musical Theater is producing edgy shows for the 21+ crowd that will include pop-up bars in the lobby hosted by Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery.

The first shows presented at the company’s recently renovated Gargaro Theater, the lineup includes “We Will Rock You” (February 1 – 11), “Evil Dead: The Musical” (February 2 – 10) and “Avenue Q” (May 3 – 13).

In “We Will Rock You,” audiences will be transported to Planet Mall, where everyone looks and thinks the same, and musicians and instruments are forbidden. While singing along to the iconic songs of Queen, can a band of bohemians save rock music from its post-apocalyptic fate?

Next up will be “Evil Dead: The Musical,” a mash-up of cult horror flicks that follows five college students into the remote woods, where they “accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons.”

The third show, “Avenue Q,” reigns as Broadway’s 24th longest-running hit. The timeless coming-of-age tale chronicles the anxieties and adventures experienced by a recent college graduate named Princeton when he moves to NYC and faces adulthood.
