Breaking The Limits

WHAT: Polish Film Festival
WHERE: Regent Square Theater
WHEN: November 15 – 21, 7 p.m.

Why You Should Go:

Cinephiles will rejoice to learn that the most extensive showcase of Polish cinema in Pittsburgh is making a return to Regent Square Theater.

As Poland marks the 100th anniversary of independence this month, it’s a good time to explore the country’s rich filmmaking tradition. The festival will feature nine films — including contemporary releases and three newly restored classics by legendary auteur Andrzej Wajda — along with Q&As and receptions with directors.

Hear the remarkable story of Jerzy Górski, who overcame drug addiction to became a triathlon champion, follow the courageous Polish pilots of Squadron 303, who fought in WWII’s Battle of Britain and rediscover Wajda’s 1958 masterpiece, “Ashes and Diamonds.”
