Mattress Factory

Mattress Factory
December 10
11 a.m. — 2 p.m.

Forget waiting in long, slow-moving lines to get a table, and instead, start a new brunch tradition at a world-renowned contemporary art hotspot.

For the holiday edition of its “Breakfast in Bed” Sunday series, the Mattress Factory flips the script on a culinary and social ritual by taking brunch out of the restaurant and putting it into the museum.

The “Naughty or Nice” theme will spotlight locally-sourced bites, beverages and entertainment, promising “an aphrodisiac bar and entertainers from the North ‘Pole.’”

Those still lamenting the closing of e2 and missing the Highland Park restaurant’s scrumptious brunch won’t want to miss this showcase of Kate Romane’s latest project, Black Radish Kitchen. The e2 founder will serve breakfast goodies like chocolate croissants, sfogliatelle and housemade bagels with herbed cream cheese, salted grape jam and apple butter.

The mouth-watering menu will also feature spiced rum cocktails created by Salúd Juicery and winter beers from Penn Brewery, and attendees will be treated to performances by the Steel City Kitty Burlesque and Variety Show.

This is the perfect chance to get in on the “Yayoi Kusama selfie craze,” since all of the museum’s galleries will be open, including its permanent collection and latest special exhibitions.
