Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland
December 31
7:30 p.m. to midnight
Searching for a fabulous and festive way to bid au revoir to 2016? Be the belle of the ball at a one-of-a-kind local affair, when Pittsburgh Opera’s New Year’s Eve Gala returns to opulent Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.

Back by popular demand, the grand gala invites revelers to don those LBDs and bow ties and enjoy a chic evening of operatic sounds, haute couture and bon temps.
The celebration will kick off with a cocktail reception in the Hall’s elegant Scaife Foyer at 7:30 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner.
Gala-goers will be treated to uplifting live concerts by Pittsburgh Opera’s Resident Artists and members of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra.
Blending grand opera, operetta and musical theater, the night’s rousing performances will feature music culled from iconic Christmas television specials of the 1950s and timeless American musical theater traditions. Conducted by Glenn Lewis, the program will include selections by Gilbert and Sullivan, George Gershwin and Stephen Sondheim.

The festivities will ramp up at 11 p.m., with tempting desserts, more cocktails, and a dance party featuring live music by the Protégé band performing favorite songs of yesteryear and today.
Don’t miss the chance to exclaim bonjour to 2017 in style with a traditional champagne toast at midnight. C’est tres magnifique.
Tickets are available for the Soirée package starting at 7:30 p.m or the Fête option beginning at 9:30 p.m.
