There’s so much more than dramatic views to experience in The Hilltop. Dive into some of Pittsburgh’s coolest, emerging neighborhoods, kick off summer and explore new amenities at Next 3 Days (N3D). For its latest installment, the innovative event series is setting up shop throughout Allentown and Mt. Washington for three days packed with programming you don’t want to miss.

A collaboration between the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Office of the Mayor of Pittsburgh and NEXTpittsburgh, N3D—which launched in October 2015 in Troy Hill—showcases under-the-radar Pittsburgh neighborhoods that are often overlooked. Through its new program series, N3D also promotes affordable housing, highlights local culture, businesses and amenities, and attracts new residents and consumers to city neighborhoods.
DAY 1
Back and even bigger, N3D kicks off on Friday, June 17 at Industry on Industry from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Located along Manton Way in Allentown, the mixed-use development is part of the Hilltop Alliance’s Business District Revitalization Program which is offering a 50% rent abatement for one year to new businesses that open along the East Warrington commercial district.
Emceed by local chanteuse Phat Man Dee, Friday night will feature live music from a variety of Pittsburgh musical luminaries, including Beauty Slap, Kanti Kasa, Gone South, Lyn Woods & Joe the Mailman, R.A.D. and DJ Climax.

Block partiers will participate in hands-on printing activities with PopCraft and Pittsburgh Buttoneer, check out a Hilltop photography exhibition co-presented by Steel City Grammers and NEXTpittsburgh, get active during summertime games led by City of Play, and see Jeremy Raymer create a live art piece.
The evening will include local cuisine, brews and cocktails from neighborhood eateries, including Kavsar—Pittsburgh’s only Uzbek restaurant—along with Sweet Peaches, Alla Famiglia, Black Forge Coffee House, and Leon’s Caribbean Restaurant.
Check back soon for details about official N3D Hilltop after-party events, such as late-night comedy shows at Drip Lounge, and extended hours and snacks at Breakfast at Shelly’s.
DAY 2
Continue your weekend Hilltop adventures on Saturday, June 18, at the N3D Festival running from noon to 4 p.m. in Grandview Park. The free celebration offers numerous ways to engage with the independent businesses, community organizations, residents and artists that make The Hilltop tick.
Enjoy live local music by Phat Mandee with members of the Cultural District, Amoeba Knievel, Palermo Stone, Bill Niels, Christiane Dolores, Machete Kisumontao, Amoeba Knievel and Bill Niels.
Shop at the local farmer’s market, craft a custom Hilltop Print with PopCraft and get your game on with City of Play. Attendees can even help name the Steel City Grazers newest helpful goat!

Next, become a part of the fabric of this vibrant nabe as you create a patch for Spool’s Community Quilt, and record your very own Hilltop memory with Work Hard PGH. Additional activities include a Hilltop photography exhibition co-presented by Steel City Grammers and NEXTpittsburgh, free face painting and caricatures, and more.
Saturday’s park party will also feature delicious fare and adult bevs from from Hilltop restaurants, such as The Summit (offering a 21+ bar area), Cafe Cravings, Kavsar, Phat Girlz A Cookin, Black Forge Coffee House, Grand Brew, and DiFiore’s Ice Cream Delite.
Don’t miss the famous Community Bake-Off with WQED celeb Rick Sebak, the first-ever Next 3 Fades: Hilltop Barbershop Throwdown and the Bailey + Boggs Artists Takeover marketplace.

Be sure to stick around for dinner and more fun at local restaurants and bars, and head back up to Grandview Park at dusk for CitiParks’ screening of The Land Before Time (G).
DAY 3

Thinking about making the move to The Hilltop? Don’t miss the informative N3D Home Buyer Workshop taking place on Sunday, June 19. The session runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the Lofts of Mt. Washington, located at 200 Cowan St.
Sunday’s fun will also include time for balancing your chakras with BYS Yoga in Grandview Park at 10:30 a.m. ($5).
