One of the city’s top shopping sensations is gearing up to attract thousands of fashion design fans. Get set to shop for a great cause when The National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh Section (NCJW) hosts its annual Designer Days extravaganza from November 2 through 6.
The NCJW’s largest annual fundraiser, the highly anticipated five-day shopping event, which is free to attend, boasts terrific deals on new and gently-worn designer label clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories.
For its 46th esteemed edition, Designer Days will showcase thousands of pieces of merchandise along with a collection of the hottest labels—all for sale at the organization’s Lawrenceville-based upscale resale store, Thriftique.
This year marks the second sale hosted at Designer Days’ new venue, which is conveniently located next to the Lawrenceville Goodwill and is surrounded by some of Pittsburgh’s most eclectic restaurants and boutiques.
Collectors, thrifters and fashionsistas alike won’t want to miss the rare chance to hunt for and score fabulous fashions and amazing deals at a fraction of the typical prices—with merchandise displayed in an attractive and exclusive boutique setting.
Whether you’re on the hunt for a Burberry coat, Coach bag or Ugg boots, there’s something for every taste, style and budget—with prices ranging from $10 jewelry to suits for $150 and on up.
Featured labels for 2016 include Missoni, Michael Kors, Eileen Fisher, Gucci, Chanel, Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Kenneth Cole, Free People, Max Mara, and many others. For serious bargain hunting, don’t miss the event’s half-off sale on Sunday, November 6.
Throughout the year, NCJW collects designer labels and name brands, all to be sold at this wildly popular, once-a-year shopper’s paradise. Serving as this year’s Designer Days Honorary Chair is Dr. Audrey Guskey, professor of marketing at Duquesne University.
Want first dibs on all of the designer duds? As a kick-off, the NCJW will host a special Soiree du Style Patron Party on Wednesday, November 2—one day before Designer Days opens to the public.
In addition to getting a sneak peek at all of the designer finds, Soiree attendees will enjoy a festive evening celebrating French culture, cuisine and style from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets to Wednesday night’s Patron Party are $40 in advance or $45 at the door.
Proceeds from the Soiree du Style pre-sale and the weekend-long Designer Days will support the NCJW’s efforts to improve the lives of women, children and families through advocacy and nonsectarian community service projects. Among the NCJW’s vital core projects are The Center for Women, Children’s Rooms in the Courts, Back 2 School Store, and the “Suit Yourself” voucher program.
