Andy Warhol Museum

Ace Hotel Pittsburgh
January 14
2—5 p.m.

Your Saturday is about to get a lot more creative—when life drawing and libations coverage at this new collaborative event cooked up by The Andy Warhol Museum and Ace Hotel Pittsburgh.

Fill up a gloomy January afternoon with art, brush up on your sketching skills and enjoy the cozy ambience of one of the East End’s newest hotspots at Sip and Sketch—which will transform Ace Hotel Pittsburgh’s historic Gym into a welcoming studio space.

Guided by experienced educators from The Warhol Museum, attendees will participate in live model drawing sessions—all while sipping tasty craft cocktails to take the edge off.

Sip and Sketch is open and accessible to all levels and backgrounds—whether you’re itching to perfect your sketching game, learn new life drawing techniques, or you’re just picking up a pencil for the first time.

Art supplies will be provided, and participants are also welcome to bring their own. The event will include a cash bar.

The unique event is hosted in conjunction with the current exhibition, Andy Warhol: My Perfect Body, on view at the Northside museum. Don’t miss the first-of-its-kind show before it closes on January 22nd, which features 200 artworks exploring Warhol’s focus on the human body and his own personal struggles with physical appearance.

The first comprehensive look at Warhol’s engagement with the body, the exhibition showcases the museum’s permanent collection alongside rarely traveled loans. Curated by Jessica Beck, My Perfect Body features student drawings, hand-painted canvases from 1961, abstract works, late-1980s paintings, physiological diagrams, and more.

Sip and Sketch attendees can receive 10% off their stay at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh when booking a room using the special promo code WARHOL.
