The Andy Warhol Museum

March 5
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Celebrated Brazilian percussionist and composer Cyro Baptista and his eclectic quartet, Banquet of Spirits, are bringing their contemporary jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms and world music to The Warhol’s intimate theater space. Recently named “DownBeat percussionist of the year,” Baptista has collaborated with a host of musical luminaries, including Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock and John Zorn, and has performed on five Grammy-winning albums. Born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1950, Baptista creates many of the percussion instruments he plays. The evening will kick off with a world music DJ set by Pittsburgh’s own Pete Spynda (Pandemic) at 7:30.
