Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh
October 26, 27, 28
5 — 11 p.m.
Every month at midnight, hundreds of corset-clad fans file into Dormont’s Hollywood Theater to catch the cult favorite, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” featuring live accompaniment and audience participation props.
Rocky Horror devotees and virgins alike will have the perfect spot to grab cocktails — and get their Time Warp fix — when Pittsburgh’s hottest new pop-up bar concept launches Downtown.
Open for three wicked nights, The Commoner’s Rocky Horror Picture Show pop-up will transform Hotel Monaco‘s Salk Room into a Transylvanian outpost. Sashay into “Frank’s Castle” for an underground club version of the madcap musical blending horror, camp and comedy.
Taking inspiration from Dr. Frank N. Furter, Riff Raff, Magenta and the entire sci-fi crew, The Commoner’s Alex Dando will conjure sinfully creepy cocktails. Served in Rocky Horror’s signature “singing lips,” Dando’s devilish drink, “A Different Set of Jaws,” blends Wigle’s organic Monongahela Rye Whiskey, Cocchi di Torino and bitters.
Curated by Pittsburgh’s own barebones productions, the pop-up will be decked out with decadent decor and dueling screens looping “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Celebrate the campy side of Halloween, enjoy surprise performances and character appearances, and hop on stage to snap a lip-synched selfie under the spotlight.
