Attack Theatre

December 5 & 6
7 p.m., 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.

Ready to put down that tape and get unwrapped this holiday season?

Warm up with some daring dance, and festive merrymaking, at Attack Theatre’s Winter Festival. Perhaps you’ve watched them dance in museums, abandoned warehouses, and even out on street corners: well now, ’tis the season to join the whole Attack Theatre crew as they revive a signature holiday show and unveil new traditions. Embark on a magical fantastical journey, and remember Attack’s motto: it’s better to dance with the box on your head than to worry about what’s inside.

Staying home for the holidays, the homegrown arts company is presenting two days of movement and merrymaking at its Strip District HQ, which is located in the Pittsburgh Opera’s George R. White Studio. Featured during the two-day fest will be the company’s popular, crowd-pleasing family favorite, Holiday Unwrapped, along with the premiere of Holiday Hijinks and Revue, Attack’s fresh new spin on the classic holiday party for adults.

Back for it’s fifth year, Holiday Unwrapped showcases the rambunctious physicality and theatrical wit of featured dancers Kaitlin Dann, Dane Toney, Liz Chang and Matt Pardo. Experience a playful world where socks morph into ice skates, empty packages become record players, and a dinner table suddenly takes on a life of its own. Set to the lively sounds of classical, jazz and klezmer music, the family-friendly production features clever and energetic dance, interactive games, movement adventures, light snacks and a warm inviting atmosphere for the holiday season. Holiday Unwrapped shows run on December 5th at 7 p.m. and on December 6th at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Between shows on December 6th, from noon to 2 p.m., join in all of the fun at Game Day featuring interactive play and movement adventures for all ages.

Feeling more naughty than nice? Break out the ugly sweaters and prance on over to Attack’s the creative twist on a signature holiday party on December 6th at 7 p.m. Capping off the company’s Winter Festival will be the premiere of Holiday Hijinks and Revue, a night for the 21 and older crowd featuring festive games, performances, holiday fare and a Yuengling Family of Beers Tasting.
