7. ZombieBurgh Lazer Tag Adventure Game, Monroeville Mall
Here’s the backstory: Zombies have roamed Pittsburgh streets for 10 years and it’s up to the stalwart few to take back the city. You’ll fight against the walking dead, but watch out for the living, too! Here at the Monroeville Mall, home to the zombie cult, ZombieBurgh puts the battle in your hands with the high-tech Lazer Runner system. The 3,000-square-foot arena pulses with music, specialty lighting and a challenging maze to add to the walking dead experience.
8. Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, Cranberry and North Fayette
Urban Air Adventure Parks are equipped with APEX Trampolines underfoot and on the walls for freeform jumping. Love the thrill of heights? Try out the up-in-the-air Ropes Course, the (gulp) Leap of Faith — or the Sky Rider that sends you soaring. The Ultimate Dodgeball experience claims to ruin the traditional gym game forever. Pickup games are held daily. Come alone and make new friends or bring the gang.
Face off against friends and foes on the Warrior Course or get competitive one-on-one with the Battle Beam. It’s a little bit sword fighting and a little bit balance beam, but the swords are foam battering rams. One of you will reign as the supreme champion; the other will fall into the foam cubes below. Wipeout is a different way to throw down the gauntlet. A cushioned rotating bar swings around the space while players jump, flip or duck to avoid being hit. The last standing survivor wins.
