May 12: Walk for a Healthy Community at Stage AE

This annual fundraising walk helps 76 participating health and human service organizations raise money for their individual missions and encourages community members like you to get active and stay active. Participants will have the choice of doing either a 5K or one-mile fun walk. The event is family- and pet-friendly! Inflatables, mascots, refreshments and raffle prizes will be available to all participants.

May 13: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at Flagstaff Hill at Schenley Park

One of the most powerful fundraising events for breast cancer research, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure uses this annual race to raise money and awareness for those affected by breast cancer. It is a powerful event that praises supporters and survivors alike. Be sure to visit Allegheny Health Network’s Women’s Health booth to pick up some fun greeting cards from #AHN Women. And take the Highmark BCBS Dr. Match quiz to be matched with your perfect care provider.

May 13: Pirates Game

Come cheer on the Pittsburgh Pirates as they take on the San Francisco Giants. Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield together with Allegheny Health Network will be giving out special Mother’s Day beach bags to all moms and drawstring bags to all kids while supplies last. It will be a great family event and to top it all off, this is Andrew McCutchen’s first series back in the ‘burgh.

Healthy Ride bike around town

Did you know May is also National Bike Month? Why not find a Healthy Ride bike station and take on the sights of our beautiful city with the family. No need to trek your bikes down to the city, just pick up one for the day and enjoy all the city has to offer.

This park is a place the whole family will enjoy. Pack up lunch or pick up from one of the many amazing restaurants in town and find your spot at the Point. With amazing views of the North Shore, Mt. Washington and the famous Pittsburgh skyline, there is no better place to enjoy a meal with the family. Take a walk around the historical Point Park grounds and even visit the Fort Pitt Museum.
