Guests will celebrate the best of everything sustainable Pittsburgh has to offer at this memorable evening of outdoor revelry while eating, drinking, enjoying live entertainment and exploring three of the greenest buildings in the world at Phipps, including the debut of the Exhibit Staging Center.

Attendees will be among the first to step inside this state-of-the-art facility, which is being masterfully transformed from a dilapidated public works garage into a building of groundbreaking sustainability.

Mouth-watering vegan and vegetarian dishes available throughout the evening will show how eating sustainably can be delectably delicious. Guests will be amazed at what chefs have prepared for this special celebration with a wide sampling of signature bites from our region’s finest, including Honeygrow, Onion Maiden, Reed & Co., CoreLife, Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream and Café Phipps, while sipping sustainably crafted beverages from The Pittsburgh Juice Company, Wigle Whiskey, Stateside Vodka, Kingfly Spirits and more.

Additionally, guests will enjoy live bluegrass music from the Gregg Welty Band while strolling the boardwalk along Phipps’ Turtle Lagoon and enjoying panoramic views of downtown Oakland.  They can also snap fun candids in the Pittsburgh Camper Photo Booth.

Guests are encouraged to be green and gorgeous, striking their own perfect balance of fancy and fun apparel for this summer spectacular. And remember, sustainable is chic! Consider wearing your green heart on your sleeve with upcycled fashion, vintage finds and organic, responsibly produced eco-couture.

The greenest party of the year will showcase a first-of-its-kind nexus featuring revolutionary green buildings of three different construction types – new (Center for Sustainable Landscapes), modular (Nature Lab) and existing (Exhibit Staging Center) – on a single site, serving as a model to inspire guests from around the world.

Maintenance staff and grounds crew, a group whose well-being is often overlooked, will be the primary occupants of the Exhibit Staging Center, which is designed to ensure that the health and well-being of all staff members is a top priority. To enhance the guest experience, the ESC will be open for a unique behind-the-scenes look at the Conservatory’s past and future flower show props and displays.

The facility is designed to generate all of the energy that it uses in a year and capture and manage all stormwater that falls onsite, expected to achieve Living Building Challenge, LEED® Platinum and WELL Platinum building standard certifications. With additional features including a yoga studio and fitness room, Phipps’ Exhibit Staging Center will set the standard for healthy existing buildings, debuting as one of the greenest structures of its kind.
