One wintry evening in Pittsburgh at the grand Heinz Hall, I sat ready to listen to another phenomenal production of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In wandered a lovely woman named Diana who sat next to me. We sparked up a conversation, she with her British accent, about how lucky we are to have the Symphony in Pittsburgh.
I mentioned I was a realtor and she replied, “Oh, I have a large home I should sell in Point Breeze. And it has a pool. I’ve got to get my kids in from out-of-town to help me sort out all my collectibles and keepsakes.” I gave her my card.
Several months later, Diana called me and we made arrangements to meet at her home — and what a grand home. She has lived there with her beloved husband William for over twenty years. I felt the love and deep-rooted contentment of residing there with so many warm memories for so many precious years.
Diana, who hails from Oxford, England, and Bill, who is of Scottish descent, had fallen in love with the house at first sight. Diana took to the large kitchen and Bill determined that the sitting room’ was spacious enough for a set of eight Scottish dancers. And so it became their home.
