Burgatory is getting high praise from QSR, a business-to-business magazine for limited-service restaurant companies.

The Pittsburgh-based burger chain made the publication’s annual list of America’s Hottest Startup Fast Casuals, which the magazine started in 2017 to track “the next big thing” in the industry. Burgatory ranked 36 out of 40 featured eateries.

QSR applauds the restaurant group’s clever branding, DIY burger concept and it’s heavenly milkshakes made with house-turned vanilla bean ice cream. (In honor of Valentine’s Day, Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Shakes are available through Wednesday, with or without chocolate vodka.)

Here’s what QSR had to say about Burgatory:

“This devilishly clever brand has all the greatest hits of your favorite dive: premium build-your-own or signature burgers; draft beers; craft-made cocktails; finger foods like nachos, wings and onion rings; and spun-to-order milkshakes, including hard shakes.”

Burgatory boasts nine locations throughout the city and suburbs, including spots in PPG Paints Arena and Heinz Field.
