Thumb a ride to Allentown Nov. 9 for the grand opening of Hitchhiker Brewing Co.’s Winter Pop-Up Taproom.

Operating every Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. until the end of March, the warehouse space at 829 Industry St., will offer draft beer, to-go cans and limited-edition merchandise. Chef Kevin Sousa of Superior Motors will supply the food through his latest venture, Arlington Beverage Club. Two to four different menu items will be available each week.

“Allentown has been a location that we have kept our eye on as it has been transforming over the past few years,” says owner Gary Olden, who operates two permanent Hitchhiker locations in Mt. Lebanon and Sharpsburg. “This neighborhood has a lot of potential, and as it continues to transform, we are excited to have the opportunity to be part of it.”

Earlier this year, Hitchhiker Brewing organized several successful pop-up events at the corner of Arlington and Warrington avenues with the Hilltop Alliance, Menuette and the real estate firm RE360. It is the brewery’s first collaboration with Sousa.

The winter pop-up can seat about 100 customers at large beer garden tables and some two-top barrels and stools.

The grand opening will coincide with the release of four new beers, which will be available at the Allentown site: Mystic Delusion IPA, Subsurface smoothie sour with acai, pomegranate and blueberry, Alternate Script oat milk IPA and Subtropic grapefruit IPA.
