Last week, Rachel Poerschke, a midwife, played the piano and sang Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me” in the lobby of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital as a thank you to frontline workers and Pittsburghers who are helping to flatten the COVID-19 curve by staying home.

The performance went viral, picked up by MSNBC and TV stations and other media across the country.

Today, Poerschke appeared on “Good Morning America” to discuss her performance and play a snippet of “Lean on Me.”

At the end of the interview, Dave and Aimee Anoia, owners of DiAnoia’s Eatery in the Strip District, appeared on the program to surprise Poerschke and the hospital staff with a free lunch.
