We’ve made the cut: The New York Times reported this morning that Amazon has announced their list of 20 cities in contention for their HQ2 and Pittsburgh is on it.

Who else is still in the running?

Atlanta
Austin, Tex.
Boston
Chicago
Columbus, Ohio
Dallas
Denver
Indianapolis
Los Angeles
Miami
Montgomery County, Md.
Nashville
Newark
New York
Northern Virginia
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Raleigh, N.C.
Toronto
Washington, D.C.

This short list of 20 was culled from nearly 240 applicants. Los Angeles was the only West Coast city to make the cut, as were the cities that have been described as logical contenders, including Dallas, Denver and Washington.

More surprising, they included Columbus, Indianapolis, Nashville and Miami in their potential choices for a second home base that has a population greater than one million and the ability to attract and keep strong technical talent.
