More than 400 educators, parents and others gathered at the O’Reilly Theater last month to listen as our founder and publisher, Tracy Certo, interviewed venture capitalist Ted Dintersmith about his year-long exploration of America’s schools and the captivating book he wrote about it.

The affable and amusing author offered praise for our city’s commitment to innovation and for Remake Learning, our co-hosts for the evening. He spoke about what happens when kids learn with purpose, gain essential skill sets, obtain agency of their learning and master deep knowledge.

If you weren’t able to join us that night, you’re in luck: C-SPAN filmed the evening for their Book Talks series and we’re happy to share it with you here.

The staff at NEXTpittsburgh writes about the people driving change in the region and the innovative and cool things happening here.
