Pittsburgh’s restaurant scene, is there anybody who doesn’t love you?
After the BBC and National Geographic Traveler both told the entire world to fly to Pittsburgh to eat this year, and after the James Beard Foundation recognized seven Pittsburgh chefs and restaurants for their accomplishments, comes this: Yelp has joined the chorus.
“Yelp’s data science team compared cities’ new restaurants, looking at ratings, reviews, cuisine diversity and percentage of food photos, to reveal where Yelpers love to eat right now,” says a new post this week on Yelp’s blog.
Pittsburgh ranked 8th in their nationwide top 10 U.S. destinations for “food lovers.”
“Climbing the culinary charts,” Yelp writes, “Pittsburgh is home to hotspots like Bigham Tavern and täkō. The Steel City’s unique blend of cuisines could be attributed to its ideal location straddling both the East and Midwest.”
They also mention Burgatory, Musa Caribbean/Cajun Fare and Pitaland.
