Kick off Spring at the Kid-a-Palooza Family Festival & Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield KDKA Health Fair, featuring hundreds of children’s exhibits, activities and performances. One of Pittsburgh’s largest family events, Kid-a-Palooza returns with 100,000 square feet of event and activity space for exploration, learning and discovery. This year, the family extravaganza will unveil new designated areas devoted to various themes, interests and activities. Make arts and crafts projects at the Creative Corner, get active at the Sports Zone and Indoor Rides and Inflatables areas, and explore imaginary characters at the Cartoon Camp. Meet Curious George, Mike the Knight, Phil Bourque, Iceburgh and Ice Crew members. Swing by the Princess Pavilion for some make believe and make a donation to support the Penguins Diaper Drive. Enjoy performances by The Octonauts, featuring Captain Barnacles and Kwazii, characters from the popular children’s books and animated television series, who will take the stage at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Additional attractions include a petting zoo, karaoke, monster trucks, insect displays, and sports and project demos. Tickets are $10 for ages 12 and up and $6 for children ages 3-11. Children under 2 are free.
