Justin Severino
Justin Severino, owner and chef at Cure and Morcilla.

Justin Severino, who closed a successful butcher shop in California to return to Pittsburgh and open Cure, has been named the People’s Best New Chef for the Mid-Atlantic region by Food & Wine magazine. He beat out nine other chefs, including six from the Philadelphia area and three from the Washington, D.C. region, to claim the honor.

The award, which was determined over a period of weeks via popular vote, is yet another honor for Cure’s owner and chef, who earlier this year was named as a semifinalist for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic by the James Beard Foundation.
