Belvedere’s Ultra-Dive

March 28
9:30 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Obvious Productions, a Pittsburgh-based bass-culture collective, turns two years young this weekend with an anniversary party featuring Portland-based singer and electronic producer Natasha Kmeto. If you missed Kmeto’s captivating appearance at the Rex during 2013 VIA Music and New Media Festival in Pittsburgh, then do yourself a favor and catch her headlining set at Obvious’ celebratory showcase at Belvie’s. On tour to support her latest release, her sophomore 10-song album, Crisis, released in June 2013 on Portland label Dropping Gems, Kmeto’s pulsing and percussive music and visceral live performances blend dance, pop and R&B. The California-born Kmeto has performed at high-profile events such as Coachella, Bumbershoot, SXSW and the Decibel Festival, and has shared the stage with numerous talented artists such as Squarepusher, Dam Funk, Shlohmo and Morcheeba. Rounding out the night’s soundscapes will be VIA co-founder Lauren G and Obvious’ own James Gyre. The anniversary bash will also feature visuals by Pittsburgh artist Ben Tabas. Run by artists and producers Robert Balotsky (Buku), Jason Burns and Derek Dumont, Obvious has a hand in multiple projects, including event production and promotions, artist management and clothing design. Cost: $10; for ages 21+.  Purchase tickets now.
