The Hollywood Theater

April 25
Doors open at 7 p.m.

Cinema and charity will converge on Friday, April 25th at The Hollywood Theater in Dormont. The 4th edition of Steel City Secret Cinema brings together a passion for movies, Bill Murray, local art and doing good. Raising funds to support two local nonprofits, The Arts For Autism Foundation of Pittsburgh and The Hollywood Theater, the creative benefit will feature a pop-up art gallery, live music, a secret film screening, raffles and more.

Peruse Bill Murray-themed art created by local artists Matt Gondek, Seth Storck, Dave Slebodnick, Heather Froman, Sam Thorp and many others, and enjoy local fare and brews provided by Roundabout Brewery and Market District. Providing the night’s soundtrack will be local DJ duo Tracksploitation. Make sure to be there at 9 p.m., when a secret Bill Murray film will be screened. The Murray flick will be followed by the unveiling of a limited edition screen-printed poster created by Pittsburgh artist Mike Budai, as well as raffle prizes.

To date,  Steel City Secret Cinema—which was founded by Colin Matthews in 2012—has raised over $6,000 for Pittsburgh-based charities, including The MGR Foundation, The Toonseum and Lawrenceville WORKS! Past Steel City Secret Cinema screenings have featured the films Slap Shot, Day of the Dead and Wristcutters: A Love Story.
