What upcoming events are you excited to attend?
Living in Bloomfield is amazing, but it is even better during Little Italy Days. The crowds of people, the delicious food and live music make it one of my favorite summertime traditions in Pittsburgh.
This fall, I am most excited for the Light The Night Walk benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have a deep connection to the organization and seeing the Pittsburgh skyline lit up with thousands of lanterns is a magical night.
What is the best part of your job?
The people. I know that it is a cliché, but the reason I love coming into work every day is the people that I work with. Selling health insurance is never what I thought I would be doing but I found the right fit and I’m so happy.
What is your big idea for Pittsburgh?
We need more riverfront opportunities. I’m excited to see all of the changes happening on the North Shore, but our rivers span multiple neighborhoods and more can be done for us to utilize the rivers.
Favorite Pittsburgh brewery?
Eleventh Hour — great beer, delicious food trucks and a fun atmosphere. My friends and I love going to trivia nights or just playing games while we enjoy the beer.
It’s time to unwind. Where do you head?
North Park Lake. I love walking the lake with my parents’ dog, Duke, or enjoying brunch at OTB Bicycle Cafe. It is a beautiful place and so serene while still being close enough to the city.
Ideal date night in Pittsburgh?
Anything active: I love going to bars, restaurants and breweries but some of the most fun is heading to trivia nights or bowling at Arsenal Bowl or even a fun round of putt-putt.
Your not-so-secret Pittsburgh spot?
Rico’s Restaurant. My family has been going to Rico’s for as long as I can remember. We are treated like family and the food is delicious every single time.
What’s been bugging you lately?
Traffic. It is construction season here in Pittsburgh, but the traffic due to the 279N work has been a bear and affects all traffic Downtown it seems.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to in the past year and why?
A New England cruise with my family. We took off from Boston and headed north where we stopped first in Portland, Maine, and biked around Mackworth Island. In St. John, New Brunswick we went zip-lining over the reversing rapids and got to enjoy a whale watching tour and some local brews in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is a beautiful part of Canada and I’m so glad I was able to see it.
