Oakland is the educational epicenter of Pittsburgh with notable universities alongside hospitals, museums, historic landmarks, arts organizations, parks, places of worship, retail stores and restaurants. This is one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, which explains why everyone seems to be driving around looking for parking.

Famous landmark: The University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning dominates Oakland’s skyline, which is constantly changing as Pitt, Carnegie Mellon University and UPMC develop. It also is home to the Nationality Rooms, classrooms you can visit that celebrate the city’s diversity.
