BuzzFeed has picked up on the work of Pittsburgh-based artist and designer Nickolay Lamm, who created a “Normal Barbie” using the average proportions of a 19-year-old woman.

Lamm launched the project last year, when he designed images of what he calls “Normal Barbie,” using the measurements of an average 19-year-old woman from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He next molded them to a 3D model of Barbie. Lamm now hopes to raise funds to produce and sell 5,000 of the dolls via his recently launched crowdfunding site.
