pittsburgh track authority

Add another name to the list of prominent musical acts from of Pittsburgh. Actually, add three names.

In an item published by Rolling Stone today, the magazine declared Pittsburgh-born-and-based DJs Preslav Lefterov, Thomas Cox and Adam Ratana — who collectively call themselves Pittsburgh Track Authority — as artists to watch.

Pittsburgh Track Authority’s debut album, Enter the Machine, will be released later this month, and the famed music magazine describes it as “a no-frills, blue-collar, pistoning dance album.” High praise, considering those first two adjectives are usually used in conjunction with football.

“There are lots of good Pittsburgh artists that accomplished things — Wiz Khalifa, Girl Talk, Modey Lemon, Anti-Flag — but very few of them set up shop here,” Cox told the magazine.
