mansions on fifth

Though it’s a story of young love and mortality set in Indiana, The Fault In Our Stars, which was shot on location in Pittsburgh last year and hit theaters earlier this month, offers plenty for Pittsburgh moviegoers who love seeing their hometown on the big screen.

Keep an eye out for the Mansions on Fifth, the Strip District and Hartwood Acres, as well as sections of Lawrenceville and Oakmont.

Pittsburgh has long been a favorite location of filmmakers, not only for its diverse topography, eclectic urban neighborhoods, stately mansions and suburban landscapes, but for the tax credit which makes filming here a more desirable alternative to places like Toronto and Vancouver.

Sure, The Fault In Our Stars doesn’t showcase the city’s signature bridges, rivers or zeal for all things black and gold, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to look too hard to find notable Pittsburgh landmarks.
